North Hills take first NE Regional RTJ Society competition at Wiltwyck.
On June 4th, golfers from several RTJ Society Clubs from the Northeast gathered at Wiltwyck Golf Club to compete for individual honors, camaraderie and overall team net awards in the first of hopefully many future Society competitions. Teams from North Hills Country Club (Jones Sr designed in 1962), The Tuxedo Club (1957), Wiltwyck Golf Club (1955) and Anglebrook Golf Club (Jones’ last full design, 1996) were present. In addition to golf, Wiltwyck provided food, memorabilia a brief history of Wiltwyck Golf Club by Wiltwyck host, Bill Collins. David Cardwell, Executive Director of the Society also gave a short presentation on Society happenings.
In golf results, the team from North Hills C.C. (Zeppieri, Fraser, Zanfardino and Formato) won the rotating Jones Cup trophy with a combined team net score of 13 under par. Individual low-gross winner was Darryl Jack (Wiltwyck) with a two over par, 74. Individual low-net winner was Todd Slapper (North Hills C.C.) at 9 under.
The next regional competition is the 2nd annual SoCal Regional in July hosted by Valencia CC in California on July 15th, before the Annual Gathering Sept 13-14 at the United States Air Force Academy
